As a visual storyteller and someone who values literature as an art form.
I have always been drawn towards the idea of writing a book. Many of my existing art pieces have a poem or story that goes with them. When a piece of my work sells, the writing often stays with me. This is a way I stay connected to my work even when it's left me.
A couple of years back, I had the idea to merge my favorite medium Collage with my love for literary arts. Using old Fairytale books, I began to chop out words until the beginning of a story emerged. I purposely chose not to pre write anything as an act of rebellion towards what any English teacher ever taught me. An act of rebellion soon showed me what I really accomplished.......4 Art works of writing that emerged purely from my heart & my subconscious. The underlying themes that emerge in Un?Cultivated Cuts of Fabricated Fables are poetic ransom note style depictions of lessons I learned at that time period of my life. Included with Collaged Illustrations to bring the scenes to life visually.
