Curation of Spaces & Places

I’m Charissa Leitch, the artist and creative mind behind Lizard Queen Conceptuals. As an independent curator and creative director, I specialize in transforming everyday spaces into creative experiences, connecting talented artists with new audiences, and bringing visual art into unexpected places.

From music festivals and local businesses to pop-up exhibitions and live painting experiences, my work is about creating opportunities for artists while making art more accessible, engaging, and integrated into the spaces we share.

From Galleries to Festival Grounds

As the Art & Installations lead for Wicked Woods Music & Arts Festival, I oversee a diverse visual arts program that includes large-scale installations, murals, the Aurora Gallery, and live painting experiences. Working alongside an incredible team of artists, builders, and creative collaborators, I help transform festival grounds into an immersive environment where visual art becomes part of the experience.

Through Elements of Art at Element Café, I’ve brought curated exhibitions into a community business setting, creating opportunities for local artists to showcase their work and connect with audiences outside traditional gallery spaces.

I’m also passionate about incorporating live painting into events, bringing the creative process into public view. Whether it’s a music festival, corporate gathering, community celebration, or special event, live art adds an interactive dimension that invites people to witness creativity as it happens.

My curatorial work also includes Off the Skin, an exhibition at the Calgary Tattoo & Arts Festival celebrating the artistic practices of tattoo artists beyond the tattoo studio.
